Interview Process and Editorial Policy

How eFounder.club turns founder conversations into accurate, useful stories and how interviewee information is handled.

eFounder.club exists to help the eCommerce community learn from the people building it. That means documenting the path behind the result: the late nights, the trade-offs, the failed tests, and the decisions that changed the business.

How an interview becomes a live story

1Story fit

We first decide whether the founder, business, and proposed angle will be useful to eCommerce readers. A strong story has a clear lesson, a meaningful decision, or a perspective that can travel beyond one company.

2Scheduling and preparation

We agree on the format, timing, broad subject, and any sensitive areas. A live interview may use a short question list.

3The conversation

We listen for the details that make the story real: what happened, what was uncertain, what was tried, what failed, and what changed.

4Editorial draft

The interview is shaped into a readable founder story. Answers may be reordered, and grammar, length, and flow. We do not change the substance of what you said.

5Fact review

Before publication, you may review the draft for names, dates, numbers, links, product details, and context. Please identify factual corrections clearly so they can be resolved efficiently.

6Editorial decision

eFounder.club retains final responsibility for the story, including the headline, structure, selection of material, and publication decision.

7Publication and promotion

A live story may appear on eFounder.club and may be shared through the site, newsletter, social channels, search previews, or other promotion connected to the story. Relevant company or personal links may be included at editorial discretion.

8Updates and corrections

If a material fact changes or an error is found, contact us. We may update, correct, or add an editor note depending on the nature of the change.

How interviewee information is handled

The information you share is used to produce and maintain the story. We aim to collect what is needed for that purpose, keep access limited to the people working on the story, and avoid using the material for unrelated purposes.

Information we may collect

  • Your name, title, company, email address, and preferred contact details.
  • Interview answers, notes, recordings where applicable, biographical details, and links you provide.
  • A headshot, product image, logo, or other photo you choose to send for editorial use.
  • Corrections, approvals, usage instructions, and correspondence related to the story.

How we use it

  • To contact you, schedule the interview, and manage the editorial workflow.
  • To write, edit, fact-check, publish, and update the founder story.
  • To identify you and your business accurately in the story and relevant promotion.
  • To respond to correction, privacy, accessibility, or withdrawal requests.

How it is stored and shared

Working materials may be stored in email, document, meeting, and cloud-storage systems used to produce the story. Access should be limited to people who need it for the editorial workflow. We do not sell interviewee data. We do not share your answers or photo for an unrelated commercial purpose. Materials are retained only as long as reasonably needed for editorial operations, corrections, records, or a request you have raised.

Photos and permissions

Only send a photo or visual asset you own or are authorized to share. By supplying it for the interview, you confirm that it may be used with the published story and its ordinary editorial promotion. If a photographer credit, crop, attribution, or usage limit applies, tell us when you send the file. We will make reasonable efforts to follow those instructions.

Corrections, withdrawal, and privacy requests

Email the request as soon as possible and include the story title, the relevant passage, and the change you are requesting. Factual errors will be corrected. Requests to withdraw an unpublished story will normally be honored. For a published story, we review withdrawal and removal requests in context, taking accuracy, public usefulness, privacy, and the age of the material into account.

Editorial standards

9Accuracy over polish

We check important claims against the interview and available supporting material. We do not publish facts we cannot reasonably support.

10Useful over promotional

The purpose is to help founders learn, not to create an uncritical advertisement. Relevant links may be included, but coverage is not guaranteed or sold.

11Disclosure when it matters

Any sponsorship, commercial relationship, or other relevant conflict will be disclosed clearly to readers.

12Respect for different paths

There is no single founder profile. We welcome solo founders, repeat builders, emerging operators, and the wider group of people shaping eCommerce.

13Editorial independence

Interviewees can improve factual accuracy and context. The editorial team retains final responsibility for what is published and how it is framed.
